Good Beer Guide Process
Dumfries & Stewartry Good Beer Guide Process
The CAMRA Good Beer Guide and it's associated mobile phone app is the main publication of the organisation and provides a genuinely independent listing of the best Real Ale across the country and where to drink it.
The book is not a pub guide. Although pubs and clubs are surveyed by members the criteria for inclusion in the guide is based on the quality of the beer being served, which is as much to do with cellar management and other behind the scenes activities as it is to do with the welcome you receive at the pub. OF course, we hope that the two sides of the business come together when you choose to pop into one of these establishments!
CAMRA has decided that all branches should make their GBG selection process public. While many branches use member scoring of beer as the basis for their nominations, not all do and even with scoring taken into account the process varies from branch to branch.
